Nazca Lines..

Huge markings, that mean nothing from land but when viewed from above take shape and form.
Why were they made?.... Many theories but no one really knows.

From the beginning..

Cave and Rock paintings dating from prehistoric times, 40,000 years ago. Most paintings are of large animals or hand prints, maybe the artist trying to leave his own mark/signature.

Benetton Advertising

United Colors of Benetton.. Advertising campaigns.. No relation to the clothing but gets people talking.. Increases sales. Effective Marketing through imagery.

Christopher Kane

Christopher Kane used plus size models in one of his collection fashion shows not long ago (s/s11). Because of this he made the front cover of many newspapers.. not for his work but for the fact he stood out and used healthier looking models. I was disgusted to here that because of this, many people behind the scenes refused to work with him and they didn't want to be seen as going against the industry.

American Apparel

I love love love love this shop and all the beautiful things they have in there, maybe not so much the price tag! There designs are quite simple in both style and colour but wearing them feels amazing!
I recently purchased a cream coloured double layered high waisted chiffon skirt from them and its now my favourite thing. I've dressed it down and worn it out and about round town and cant wait to wear it with a crop top for a night out. The material moves beautifully and is so soft to touch.

Also, about a year ago now I was on a shoot and got to wear the DISCO PANTS and have been forever obsessing over them! They are incredible! And no where else does anything that feels as good, I have searched! But now.. at long last I have half a pair! As me and my new house mates went half's on them as they have a whopping price tag for a pair of leggings! They are beautiful!
I would one day LOVE to me able to make something that looks and feel so good!

Zac Posen..

I have always admired and loved Zac Posens work. Beautiful, creative, flowing, feminine designs. After being in Paris is presented his spring/summer 12 collection in New York. I love the details and and glamour he put into his designs. Truly stunning and inspirational.

Meadham Kirchhoff...

Spring/Summer 2012. quirky, cartoon, doll like and very imaginative design. Playful and fun! Love the character and design of all the garments, lots of fun but at the same time beautiful pieces that I myself would more then love love to own if I could afford them!  x

Caterpillar and Butterfly..

"Fashion is at once both caterpillar and butterfly. Be a caterpillar by day and a butterfly at night... There must be dresses that crawl and dresses that fly." (Coco Chanel )

PARIS !

Last weekend I was lucky enough to go to Paris for a few days. I was working as a model for Mazella and Palmer hairdressing. There were many different teams of hairdressing, from the UK and France.
It was interesting to see how different people styled the models for the event. Most of the teams from the UK used very simple, elegant designs and the hair cuts matched that went with them were very angular, smooth and stylish.
Where as some of the French hairdressers had very elaborate, costume like outfits and the hair was as big and bold as it could get, with as many hair extensions and you could fit in. Showing how different cultures are in the way they present themselves.

The outfits I had to wear were all in one catsuits. in either white or black. One of the models that I worked along side has actually made the costumes and studied as LCF, so it was interesting to talk to her about her experiences.

Paris was beautiful and a very inspiring place to visit when I was just starting a creative course!
